The new UL-HG CO2 range includes all transcritical and subcritical compressors in 2-, 4- and 6-cylinder versions including the efficiency-enhanced transcritical compressor series with LSPM (Line Start Permanent Magnet) motors for use in mobile and stationary applications.

"The stand-alone BOCK UL compressor range for the refrigerant R744 meets all relevant safety requirements for the US and Canadian markets. It is equipped with all CO2-specific features - globally proven, reliable and highly efficient," according to Manuel Fröschle, product manager for natural refrigerants at BOCK.

The wide range of applications for the new CO2 compressor range from BOCK extends from low and medium temperature cooling to air-conditioning and high-temperature heat pumps - with maximum reliability at flexible partial load as well as full load.

This means that tailor-made sustainable solutions can be implemented for a wide range of performance requirements: for example, for use in supermarkets, refrigerated warehouses and sports facilities as well as for bus and train air-conditioning or transport refrigeration.

"Thanks to our 30 years of expertise in CO2 compressor technology, our new UL-recognized compressors are also characterized by a high level of efficiency and reliability while offering reduced energy and operating costs. Functionality, cost-effectiveness and climate protection therefore go hand in hand," Fröschle said.

“Further advantages for the user: compact design, minimal oil carry over, and outstanding low-noise and low-vibration running comfort.”

The compressor specialist from southern Germany has already successfully launched a UL-recognized compressor range specifically for the USA and Canada on the market in 2021 with the semi-hermetic UL-HG series for synthetic refrigerants (HFCs).

The U.S. company Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is a nationally recognized test laboratory by the U.S. federal agency OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) that tests products and components for safety in accordance with the relevant standards. The awarding of a UL test mark is generally necessary for the North American market in order to be able to market and use technical products such as compressors.
